COVID-19 Control Plan

Face masks and coverings

  • ALL employees and visitors MUST wear facemasks when entering the building or worksite
  • Employees may remove the mask when they can easily, continuously, and measurably maintain at least six (6) feet of distance from other employees for the duration of their work and/or time in a building. 
  • Procure/distribute cloth face masks to employees at no cost and replace face masks as necessary 
  • Informed employees the need to clean their facemask between uses, or to dispose of it between uses (if disposable). 

Social distancing and organizing personnel

  • Prevent working with 6’ in the workplace at the same time, use flexible work hours, staggered shifts, as well as maintain consistent grouping of staff at offsite projects to mitigate cross-team exposure. 
  • All visitors/subcontractors to work sites must sign HRI COVID19 requirements.
  • Adjusted meetings and social gatherings to comply with RIDOH published requirements gathering sizes.
  • 6’ spacings in high traffic areas ensure employees can maintain six feet of distance between themselves. 
  • Distributed and posted social distancing instructions to employees and visitors/customers.
  • Modified workspaces where possible for six feet between employees
  • Each employee must maintain and clean their own work area and tools.
  • Where social distancing is not possible, employees must wear cloth face coverings, clean hands and shared tools.
  • NO shared vehicles.

Responding to a positive case or outbreak

  • Will call RIDOH immediately upon a positive case at 401-222-8022, or 211 after hours, to assist in contact tracing and further instruction. 
  • Lindsay Hart shall work with RIDOH on testing employees, contact tracing, case investigation, isolation and quarantine, and any other follow-up related to outbreak containment. 
  • HRI’s Covid19 guidelines ensure all employees have access to screening and paid sick leave for quarantine or necessary recovery periods.
    • Any suspected COVID19 workspace, tools, equipment, and surfaces shall be thoroughly cleaned.
    • ANY employee with or exposed to COVID19 shall be removed from workplace and quarantined for 14 days.

Minimizing access by COVID-19-positive or symptomatic individuals

  • Employees MUST stay home if they test positive for, have been exposed to, or have symptoms of COVID-19. 
  • Screenings shall be conducted verbally, by phone, or video for any employee with the following symptoms:
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Cough
  • Or at least two of the following:
    • Fever
    • Chills
    • Repeated shaking with chills
    • Muscle pain
    • Headache
    • Sore throat
    • New loss of taste or smell

Cleaning and decontamination

  • Workers MUST wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water frequently throughout the day
  • At the beginning and end of their shift
  • Prior to any mealtimes
  • After cleaning
  • After removing gloves (where applicable)
  • After using the restroom
  • After using shared tools, equipment, or surfaces
  • Using disinfectant spray or wipes
  • Work surfaces, equipment, tools and machinery, restrooms, break rooms, lunch rooms, meeting rooms, and drop-off and pick-up locations in compliance with CDC guidelines.
