Heritage Restoration’s Jen Rydwansky restored the amazing late 19th century hand painted wallpaper in the main hallway of the Varnum House Museum in East Greenwich, RI. The project’s intent was to assess the condition, document, stabilize and restore the wallpaper and plaster substrate. HRI repaired the plaster using injection stabilization methods, relined the wallpaper, cleaned the surface, and repainted missing or damaged areas. The methodology considered the impact to the historic fabric, and reproduced areas that were worn or damaged by water.
