Rob Cagnetta
Founder
Rob Cagnetta graduated from the Historic Preservation Program at Roger Williams University, with a minor in Architecture, and went on to build a career rooted in hands-on craftsmanship and preservation leadership. Early in his career, he apprenticed in the trades before becoming Director of the Institute for Preservation Training (IPT) at Goodwill Industries of Rhode Island, completing work on National Park Service properties, state historic sites, and countless private homes throughout New England.
Rob has been an active voice in the preservation trades, serving on the Preservation Trades Network and the Window Preservation Standards Committee, where he helps shape national best practices for window conservation. He is also an Askins Achievement Award recipient—recognition given to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the traditional building trades and preservation community.
Today, Rob serves as President of Heritage Restoration, Inc., Vice President of Sutherland Welles, LTD, and Chair of the South Kingstown Zoning Board. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to preserving historic buildings, elevating craftsmanship, and supporting thoughtful, sustainable community development.

Lindsay Hart
Chief Operating Officer
Lindsay Hart is a graduate of the Historic Preservation Program at Roger Williams University and the steady heart of Heritage Restoration. She began her career working alongside Rob in the field—tackling everything from roofs and foundations to framing and siding—traveling up and down the East Coast, often under challenging conditions and even while expecting her first child.
After time spent raising her family, Lindsay returned to Heritage Restoration and quickly became the organizational force that holds the company together. As Chief Operating Officer, she oversees operations with exceptional clarity, compassion, and competence. Lindsay is the thoughtful, knowledgeable, and infinitely patient presence behind every phone call and email—the person who ensures the company runs smoothly, projects stay on track, and clients feel supported.
Quite simply, Heritage Restoration could not function without her. Lindsay is our rock, our voice of reason, and the person who quietly makes everything possible.

The Crew
Our Team
Heritage Restoration relies on an extraordinary crew of talented, dedicated craftspeople who bring skill, curiosity, and heart to every project. We are proud to be a majority female and non-binary team working in a field traditionally dominated by men—an accomplishment that reflects not only our values, but also the caliber of people who choose to work here. Our staff is exceptionally capable, collaborative, and deeply committed to the care of historic buildings.
We believe that great craftsmanship comes from supporting the whole person. Heritage invests in our team through competitive benefits, retirement plans, health insurance, professional development, and a culture that respects life both in and out of the workplace. In return, our crew brings unmatched attention to detail, technical knowledge, and pride in their work—the qualities that define Heritage Restoration.
We are always excited to meet new craftspeople who share our love of old houses, thoughtful problem-solving, and preservation done the right way. If you value skill, integrity, and community, you may belong here.
